My kid is broken. Can I have yours?
April 30, 2008Seriously, the Buddha Baby has had a cold for about a month straight.
So much for the whole “breastfed babies are healthier” hooey.
Sigh.
Also: she has two teeth coming in. At five months old!
Constant cold + teething = where’d my sweet baby go?
Answer: follow the trail of snot.

That breastfed babies are healthier thing must be a myth. My imp had 1-2 colds a month once she started daycare…and I think I caught everyone of them too. I interrogated my pediatrician about the whole breastmilk/health myth, and he said that I would have to have antibodies to the illnesses to be able to pass on to my daughter…and clearly I didn’t since I got sick too…so maybe if I had worked at her daycare for a year, we would have been in good shape.
Of course! The perfect solution! Why didn’t I think of that?
Daycare is definitely playing a big part of it. Do you think they’d mind if I sent her in a big plastic bubble?

I have a catalog that actually sells plastic bubbles. They are for rolling kids in for summer camps, and are more likely to be germ habitrails more than protective, but sometime we get to the point where we will try anything!
I’m not sure I would send my kid to a summer camp that involves plastic bubbles. Doesn’t that kind of defeat the whole “communing with nature” summer camp experience, or is my notion of camp just antiquated?

I’d wager the plastic bubble might be a little bigger than… um… the nursery room?
It’s possible. How about I just give all of the care providers and other kids hazmat suits?

Re: summer camp w/ bubbles. The below link is what I’m thinking of, and heck yeah I’ll send my kid to get into that bubble:

Forget the kid, man. I’m going in that thing.
